OnePlus Nord CE5 has arrived, and this phone has been launched in India on 8 July, 2025! Its 7100mAh battery and Dimensity 8350 processor are creating a lot of excitement, but does this phone really stand out in the under ₹25,000 segment?
Or do some compromises make it average? Let’s take a quick look at its features, deals, and decide whether this should be your next phone or not!
What is OnePlus Nord CE5?
The Nord CE series is always known for its value-for-money in the budget and mid-range. This time the Nord CE5 comes with a big battery and decent performance, but there are some things missing which might make you think. This phone is available on Amazon India, OnePlus online store, and offline retailers. Ready to see the specs? Let’s go!
Performance: Dimensity 8350
The Nord CE5 has the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset (4nm), which is quite smooth for mid-range gaming and daily tasks. With 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, this phone is solid for multitasking and fast app loading.
Be it playing BGMI or CODM, this phone offers a lag-free experience with 120fps gaming support. But, if you are a hardcore gamer, you may feel a little lacking as it does not offer the same power as the Snapdragon 8-series.
Battery: 7100mAh Monster!
The highlight of this phone is the 7100mAh battery (India variant), which is one of the biggest batteries in the market. It can easily run for 1.5-2 days in moderate use.
With 80W SuperVOOC charging, it charges from 0 to 100% in 59 minutes, and a 10-minute charge can deliver 6 hours of YouTube streaming. The global variant has only 5200mAh battery, so Indians are lucky!
Display: Smooth and Vibrant
The Nord CE5’s 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It delivers extremely crisp visuals for movies, scrolling, or gaming.
Colors are vibrant, and the brightness is enough for outdoor use. But, if you’re expecting an ultra-premium display, it may seem a bit basic compared to flagships.
Camera: Decent, But Basic
In the camera department, the Nord CE5 plays it a little safe:
- 50MP Sony LYT-600 main sensor with OIS, which delivers sharp photos in daylight and supports 4K 60fps video recording.
- The 8MP ultra-wide lens is good for landscapes, but performs average in low-light.
- The 16MP front camera is decent for selfies and video calls.
RAW HDR and Real Tone tech (borrowed from the OnePlus 13 series) enhance photos a bit, but this setup is not a game-changer.
Software and Features
The phone comes with Android 15, which gives a clean and smooth experience of OxygenOS 15. There is a promise of 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates, so this phone is future-proof for the long term.
Extra features include in-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, and hybrid SIM slot. But, no NFC and no confirmed IP rating is a bit disappointing, especially in this price range.
Design: Simple and Sleek
The design of the Nord CE5 is clean and minimal, with a flat frame and polycarbonate back. It comes in Black Infinity and Marble Mist colors, and feels lightweight with a weight of 199g.
The camera module has a vertical layout like the iPhone 16, which looks modern. But, the plastic back and single speaker take away the premium feel a bit.
Price and Deals
The expected price of Oneplus Nord CE5 is ₹27,999 (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) and up to ₹30,000 (256GB variant). It will be available for sale on Amazon India, OnePlus store, and offline retailers from 12 July, 2025.
Bank offers and exchange deals will also be available during Prime Day (12–14 July). First 1000 buyers may get discount with OnePlus Buds 4!
Oneplus Nord CE5 vs Nord CE4: What’s the Difference?
Compared to Nord CE4, this phone has brought quite a few upgrades:
- Battery: 5500mAh to 7100mAh (India variant).
- Processor: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 with Dimensity 8350, which performs slightly better.
- Camera: Same 50MP main sensor, but with new HDR tech.
But, NFC is missing and the single speaker is similar to the Nord CE4.
If you are using the Nord CE4, then there is no need to upgrade, but for new buyers this is a solid option.
Is This the Phone for You?
If you want a phone with a big battery, smooth performance, and clean software under ₹30,000, then the Nord CE5 is a decent choice. But, if you want NFC, better camera, or full IP rating, then you can also look at options like iQOO Neo 10R or Realme GT 6 in the market.
