Last time we saw the review of recently released Poco F7 5g and in this post we are going to test the Poco F7 camera. This phone has been launched recently and people are talking a lot about it. But the question is – is its camera as powerful as its performance and battery backup? I tested the camera of this phone – zoom, selfie, video, everything! So let’s know in detail how special the camera of POCO F7 is.
POCO F7 Camera Test

Camera setup of POCO F7
The POCO F7 has a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. A 20MP front camera has been provided for selfies. With the rear camera, you can record 4K 30fps and Full HD 60fps videos, but the selfie camera is limited to only Full HD 60fps. These specs sound good, but what happened in the real-world test? Let’s see!
Dynamic range and photo quality
I took a lot of photos with the POCO F7, especially to check the dynamic range. The result? Average. Details were a little weak in dark areas. When I took pictures of flowers, the color tone was decent, but not boosted much. These photos are ready for social media – you won’t need to edit. The special thing? I clicked a picture of a bee that was moving, and it came out sharp. POCO’s camera performs well in moving shots.
Selfie camera: Hit or miss?
When I tested the selfie camera, I got mixed results. If there is sun in the background, the photos become a little washed-out, and the face gets a reddish tone. I had turned off the beauty mode, but still a slight beauty effect was visible. Detailing was good in photos without sun, especially in the ultra-wide mode. But the portrait mode lacked optimization – sometimes the sky came out well, sometimes the face. Overall, the selfie camera is okay, but doesn’t give a premium feel.
Zoom and video recording
The rear camera has a 2x zoom option, but the quality is a bit weak for the price. Photos become reddish in sunlight, and detailing could have been better. Photos without sun were fine. Talking about videos, Full HD 60fps offers good detailing and stabilization. Mic quality is also good – the audio was clear in the video I recorded. But the background blur in bokeh mode (Full HD 30fps) was average.
Is the POCO F7 for camera lovers?
Friends, honestly, the camera of the POCO F7 is not its biggest feature. If you are looking for a phone for gaming or battery backup, then it is great. But for camera lovers? Need a little more improvement. POCO will have to work more in dynamic range, portrait mode, and zoom.
