OneUI 8 Update: First Look and Game-Changing Features You Must See!

Hey guys, what’s up! How are you all? Today, I have come up with a topic that will touch the heart of every Samsung Galaxy user.

Yes, we are talking about OneUI 8, which is currently in beta and I have tested it myself running on Galaxy S25 Ultra. Now you must be thinking, friend, OneUI 7 was such a big update, what’s new in this?

I was also thinking the same, but believe me, this update is not small, it is absolutely next-level! New animations, smarter features, and small tweaks that make a big difference in daily use.

So, Are you ready to check out the OneUI 8 Update First Look and Features? Let’s start, and read till the end, because there is a surprise in it too!

Dynamic Wallpapers

Friends, is it possible that a new update comes and the wallpapers are not new? OneUI 8 brings two new dynamic wallpapers that are minimal and classy.

These wallpapers change colors throughout the day – bright blue in the morning, orange in the evening, and dark hues at night.

When you unlock the lock screen or home screen, a smooth gradient animation appears. Very cool, isn’t it? You too try it and pick your favorite style!

New Swag in Lock Screen

There is a lot of new on the lock screen too. Widgets are now a bit bolder and more readable, giving a clean look. A new animated clock style has also been added, which comes with a slightly different animation – a small change but feels premium.

And yes, there is also a Create Note shortcut, which lets you directly open the floating window in Samsung Notes. Perfect for quick jottings! These small tweaks are quite handy in daily use.

Visual Tweaks That Make the UI Smoother

The UI of OneUI 8 has been thoroughly polished. Home screen widgets are now bolder and bigger, just like Google widgets or Samsung’s own widgets. The layout of the widgets page has also been optimised, which makes better use of space and shows more widgets in previews.

The UI of Universal Search (which is accessed from the app drawer) is also new, cards are organized differently, and now more options are visible through a dropdown icon instead of side-scrolling.

And friend, the new UI of Quick Share will win your heart! Tap on Quick Settings and a sleek screen opens with Send and Receive tabs, with animations.

The Share sheet also now comes in a floating window style, and there is also a new Secure Folder tab, through which you can share directly in secure apps. Watch its demo on YouTube, because words will not fully explain it!

New style of new time

The new time of OneUI 7 was a big hit, and OneUI 8 adds more fun to it. Now when you tap the Now bar, you get a little haptic feedback – feels premium!

It now also shows calls and call duration, and even when DND (Do Not Disturb) is on, a notification comes. I am a fan of DND, and this feature is perfect for people like me. What do you think?

New Magic of Multitasking

Now let’s talk about a feature that is inspired by the Material You 3 design of Android 16 – new multitasking. In split-screen, you can now set apps in a 90:10 ratio, whereas in OneUI 7 the maximum was 70:30.

This small change is a big game-changer, as you can now keep one app in a corner while focusing on another. This is very handy for daily use, especially when you’re browsing and note-taking at the same time.

Big Updates in Samsung Apps

1. Contacts

Now you can access recorded calls directly from the Contacts page. Super easy!

2. Secure Folder

Now you can set a separate fingerprint for Secure Folder. Plus, apps can now run in the background even when the folder is locked.

3. Modes & Routines

This underrated app is now even more powerful, with new integrations for Reminders, Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

4. Reminder App

Auto-suggested reminder names and sample reminders (like workouts or monthly payments) are now available.

5. Calendar

You can set reminders directly while adding events.

6. Auracast

Music broadcast has a new UI, and now you can invite nearby people with a QR code.

7. Weather App

New animations, translucent cards, and the option of hybrid units. Very detailed and pretty!

8. Files App

Categories are now sleekly arranged at the top, and smart suggestions like for file renaming.

9. Gallery App

New menu UI, and more of the photo is visible in edit mode.

10. Camera Gesture

The gesture to switch on the rear and front camera can now also be customized to open Quick Settings.

When will we get OneUI 8?

Now the question is – when will we get all this officially? The beta of OneUI 8 is currently running on the Galaxy S25 series, and according to reports, the stable version could launch in July 2025 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

The rollout for the rest of the devices will begin after that. After the delay of OneUI 7, Samsung is working quite fast this time, so fingers crossed!
